David Harrison Palletisers ... put safety first
The Oldenhuis & Prinsen OPPM palletiser is a robust, compact machine that will meet the daily needs and budgets of most farmers and packers.
Oldenhuis & Prinsen palletisers already have a strong following in the UK with 50 installed
machines, and 200 installed machines in Europe (as of March 2008). The machines are suitable for all
types of products, whether in bags (paper, plastic, net or hessian), trays, boxes or plastic wrapped
bales, with a weight range from 10kg to 50kg and a choice of stacking patterns.
These machines are suitable for smaller applications with outputs up to 9 tons per hour on 25kg bags.
The OPPM palletiser is a compact machine, covering a floor area of only 1.66m x 3.34m. It can be supplied in five different configurations to accomodate the various different packhouse layouts. Our in-house design and manufacturing facilities enable us to visit a prospective customer's premises, take detailed measurements, prepare a layout plan complete with any other required equipment i.e conveyors / stitching lines etc. which we are able to manufacture on-site.
Once the machine is installed, our after sales service team visits the customer to ensure the necessary stacking patterns are programmed into the machine. Training is given and any issues arising are dealt with. We ensure the customer is 100% happy with the installation before considering the machine as delivered. Should any issues arise after installation, our experienced and dedicated team of engineers are on hand to provide either remote or on-site support, however the majority of issues are usually dealt with over the phone.
A softkey keypad and large screen makes operating the OPPM a breeze. Programs can be changed
on-the-fly by the operator without the need for a technician visit (and a costly call-out fee!). The
machine can store 34 different pallet stacking configurations and can be switched to a different program
without stopping. This can be particularly important if the user wishes to add layers to the final pallet
etc.
The OPPM can also be adjusted to accomodate different size pallets (1200mm x 800mm, 1200mm x
1000mm, 1500mm x 1000mm).
Reliability and low maintenance have been designed into the OPPM. All positioning motors are controlled by frequency converters to give smooth, accurate positioning of the bags. This also reduces the wear on the motors and gearboxes during the lifetime of the machine.
The machine features an integral roller conveyor to rumble and flatten the bags prior to stacking, to ensure the stack is neat and locked together on the pallet. Next, the manipulator head pick the bags up and delivers them precisely in the correct position before allowing the bag to drop a small distance to lock the bags together. This ensures the bags are as flat as possible, eliminating 'leaning' of the finished pallet stack due to bags not being correctly flattened. This 'leaning' can lead to dangerously stacked pallets which can collapse during loading and transport. The OPPM-stacked pallets are straight, level and locked in place to ensure a safe transit of the product.
